We're here to help

Valley Mold Services is dedicated to providing a wide range of mold-related services to help people navigate their situation as smoothly and cost-effectively as possible while protecting their health.

Mold Certifications:

Although Wisconsin and Minnesota do NOT require certifications or licensing, our primary inspector is certified by NORMI (National Organization of Remediators and Microbial Inspectors) as both a Mold Inspector and Mold Remediator.

Valley Mold Services chose NORMI because they're one of the top 3 certifying organizations recognized by all states that do require certifications/licensure to operate in their state. Additionally, NORMI acknowledges the health impacts of mold, which is of high concern to Valley Mold Services.

Mold Inspection:

Valley Mold Services provides full mold inspection services in western Wisconsin and soon in the Minneapolis/St. Paul/Twin Cities metro area.

Please see HERE for our inspection details and service coverage area.

Mold Remediation:

While Valley Mold Services doesn't currently provide mold remediation services directly, our primary assessor is certified as a remediator, also, because we believe fully understanding remediation standards is key to being an advocate for our client's healthy, successful remediation. We will coach you through your options and ensure your remediation is done to industry standards (whether by a remediation company or yourself).

Please see HERE for our remediation services details.

What brought us here

This was born out of personal experience.

We genuinely want to help people not go through what we went through.

We want to prevent others from the situation we experienced, or if they're already in it, at least help them get through it as smoothly and cost-effectively as possible with as little health damage as possible.

We've lived it. Health impacts. Uncertainty. 5+ inspections (including a mold dog - like a drug-sniffing dog but trained for mold). Multiple (unsuccessful and successful) remediations. Detox and health recovery. Prevention measures. And everything in between.

Our obsession with indoor air quality started in 2017. A few short months after moving into our new-construction home, we were informed of a recall on our floor joists. They were off-gassing extremely, extremely high levels of formaldehyde due to a new formulation of the coating applied to the basement joists that helped them meet fire-retardant standards. The remediation that ensued was botched in countless ways, one of which was improper negative air pressure and containment (same process as used in mold remediation) and another was not maintaining above-freezing temperatures in the home during the process. Formaldehyde dust from the basement joists was spread up the ductwork through the entire home. A thick coating covered everything, even 2 stories up in the bedrooms. While the ducts and heating system were disconnected for the remediation, the plumbing froze. Everything about the remediation was an extremely stressful, time-consuming nightmare. We'll leave you to your own (likely correct) assumptions because we legally can't discuss details of this situation.

Fast forward a few years to where mold comes into the picture.

While house hunting, we put an offer on a home that turned out to have an extremely moldy attic (black, mushrooms growing, crunchy insulation, the works). This was found during the general home inspection and confirmed later by a mold inspector. After much research plus an uncooperative home seller, we walked away from that home. We offered on another home, and the home inspection (of which we emphasized our extreme concern for mold) went smoothly with nothing notable reported. The home ended up having numerous mold issues.

To make a long story short, mold has cost our family tons of money and our health (some of us more than others). It didn't have to. It shouldn't have. It was partially because of lack of knowledge and awareness, and partially because industry standards simply were NOT followed.

No one cares about the health of your home than you. No one.

I was obsessed with learning absolutely everything possible. It consumed me. And it blew my mind that I needed to justify and fight for why I wanted industry standards followed in the remediation of our home.

I'm extremely passionate about all things mold. I want to share my knowledge and help others protect their home, their finances, and their health.
